Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 cups (280g) rotisserie chicken, shredded and chopped
- 1 cup (113g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup (113g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup (84g) buffalo sauce
Pastry and Toppings
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Ranch dressing, for drizzling
- Extra buffalo sauce, for drizzling
- Parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Make the Buffalo Chicken Filling: In a medium bowl, blend the cream cheese, shredded rotisserie chicken, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and buffalo sauce until the mixture is well combined and creamy. Set it aside.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Lightly flour a surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry into a 9×12-inch rectangle to create a base for spreading the filling.
- Fill and Roll the Pastry: Evenly spread the buffalo chicken mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges. Carefully roll the pastry into a tight log and seal the edges to keep the filling inside. Slice the roll into 1-inch pieces to form individual roll-ups.
- Bake the Roll-Ups: Brush the tops of each roll-up with the beaten egg to develop a golden, shiny crust. Place them on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes until they are golden brown. For an extra warm and melty topping, spoon some additional buffalo chicken mixture on top and bake for another 6–8 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove the roll-ups from the oven and drizzle with extra buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm for the best taste experience.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken to save time and add flavor, but cooked shredded chicken can be substituted.
- Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing and smoother filling.
- Chill puff pastry as recommended on the package for best handling results.
- For less heat, adjust the amount of buffalo sauce or use a mild version.
- These roll-ups can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
