Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Base
- 1 Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
Sauce and Chicken
- 1 cup Buffalo sauce (Frank’s recommended)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 8 ounces chicken breast, shredded
Cheese and Toppings
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (2 ounces; Gorgonzola used here, feta can be substituted for a milder taste)
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Prep Oven and Baking Sheet: Place a rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat it to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or dust it with cornmeal or flour to prevent sticking.
- Make Buffalo Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the Buffalo sauce, garlic powder, and chili powder until well combined. Add the shredded chicken to the bowl and toss thoroughly to coat each piece with the sauce mixture.
- Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the whole wheat pizza dough into an 11×14-inch rectangle. Carefully transfer the rolled dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Assemble Pizza: Spread the Buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 3/4-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella, crumbled blue cheese, and thinly sliced red onions on top.
- Bake Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the crust is crisp and golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with fresh green onions. Slice into 12 pieces and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked shredded chicken or rotisserie chicken to save time.
- For a milder flavor, swap blue cheese with feta cheese.
- Dusting the baking sheet with cornmeal adds extra crunch to the crust.
- Adjust the amount of Buffalo sauce to your preferred spice level.
- Use a pizza stone if available for a crisper crust.
