Ingredients
Scale
Liquids
- 6 cups cold water (preferably filtered or purified)
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or more to taste)
Fruits
- 5 limes (cut into wedges, whole with skin)
- Fresh lime slices (optional, for garnish)
Sweeteners
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Others
- Ice (as needed)
Instructions
- Blend the Limes: Add cold water, lime wedges with skin, and granulated sugar into a blender. Blend until the lime wedges are thoroughly broken down and the mixture is smooth.
- Strain the Mixture: Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl. Pour the blended mixture through the strainer, using a spoon to press and extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining pulp and lime pieces left in the strainer.
- Blend with Sweetened Condensed Milk: Rinse the blender to remove any lime residue. Pour the strained lime juice back into the blender, add the sweetened condensed milk, and blend again until the mixture becomes frothy and fully combined.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice. Pour the Brazilian lemonade over the ice and garnish with fresh lime slices if desired. Serve immediately while cold and frothy.
Notes
- Use fresh limes with skin as it adds a slightly bitter and aromatic note which balances the sweetness.
- Sieve the blended mixture well to avoid bitterness from the broken lime rind pieces.
- Adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk to taste for desired sweetness and creaminess.
- Serve immediately for best frothy texture and refreshment.
