- 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (like bell peppers, carrots, and snow peas)
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic, ginger, and mixed vegetables. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are just tender.
- Return beef to the skillet. Add cooked noodles and the prepared sauce. Toss everything together until evenly coated and heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper if needed. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate beef in a little soy sauce and cornstarch for 15 minutes before cooking.
- Use any vegetables you have on hand—broccoli, cabbage, or mushrooms work well.
- This dish is best served fresh but can be refrigerated and reheated.
