Description

This Beef Guacamole Grilled Cheese Sandwich is a delicious fusion of classic comfort food with a Tex-Mex twist. Featuring seasoned ground beef, creamy guacamole, and melted cheddar cheese, it’s a hearty and flavorful sandwich perfect for lunch or dinner. The crispy, buttery grilled bread adds the perfect texture contrast to the savory filling, making it an irresistible meal for cheese and beef lovers alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Sandwich Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread (sourdough or your favorite)
  • 8 slices of cheddar or pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup prepared guacamole
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for grilling sandwiches)

Beef Filling

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for cooking beef)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil or butter. Add the ground beef, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 7–8 minutes. Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.
  2. Prepare the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each of the 8 bread slices. Place 4 slices butter-side down on a clean flat surface to assemble the sandwiches.
  3. Assemble Sandwiches: On each buttered bread slice, layer one slice of cheese, a generous scoop of the cooked seasoned beef, a spoonful of guacamole, and another slice of cheese. Top each with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
  4. Grill the Sandwiches: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches on the skillet and grill for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted completely.
  5. Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice them in half if desired, and serve hot for maximum flavor and enjoyment.

Notes

  • For extra flavor and a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or fresh tomato slices inside the sandwich.
  • You can substitute sliced cheese with shredded cheese if preferred for easier melting.
  • If preparing for a group, keep finished sandwiches warm in a low oven (about 200°F) until ready to serve.
