Description

This baked salmon is tender, juicy, and topped with a rich buttery honey mustard sauce that adds the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. It’s a quick and elegant meal that comes together in under 30 minutes with just a handful of ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each, skin on or off)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing or greasing pan)

For the Honey Mustard Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard (optional for texture)

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.

Pat salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place in the prepared dish.

In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients: melted butter, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard (if using), honey, lemon juice, garlic powder, and paprika.

Spoon sauce evenly over the salmon fillets, coating the tops well.

Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Optional: Broil for the last 1–2 minutes for a golden top.

Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favorite sides like rice, roasted veggies, or a green salad.

Notes

  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a slightly different twist.

  • Don’t overbake the salmon—check around the 12-minute mark for doneness.

  • Great with asparagus, green beans, or garlic mashed potatoes!
