Filling
- 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
- 6 slices chopped cooked bacon
- 1 tablespoon ranch dressing & seasoning mix
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Assembly
- 5 tortillas from 1 package (11 oz) Old El Pasoâ„¢ Flour Tortillas for Burritos (8 Count)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped cooked bacon, ranch dressing & seasoning mix, chopped fresh chives, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt using an electric mixer on medium speed until the ingredients are well combined and smooth.
- Spread the mixture: Divide the cheese and bacon mixture evenly among the 5 tortillas. Spread it out evenly over each tortilla to ensure a uniform layer of filling.
- Roll the tortillas: Tightly roll up each tortilla into a log shape to hold the filling securely inside.
- Slice and serve: Using a sharp knife, cut each rolled tortilla into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange pinwheels on a serving platter and serve immediately for best freshness and texture.
Notes
- For best results, ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
- Use freshly cooked bacon for a crisp texture, or substitute with pre-cooked bacon bits.
- Pinwheels can be prepared a few hours in advance and chilled before slicing.
- Feel free to add other fresh herbs like parsley or dill for extra flavor.
- These pinwheels are best served chilled or at room temperature, not heated.
