- 1 lb frozen meatballs (beef, pork, or chicken)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place frozen meatballs in the crockpot and pour sauce mixture over them. Stir to coat evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until meatballs are heated through and sauce is flavorful.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl and stir into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Serve hot as an appetizer or over rice.
Notes
- You can use homemade or store-bought frozen meatballs.
- Adjust sweetness and heat to taste by modifying honey or red pepper flakes.
