Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a bundt or tube pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and sour cream.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in chopped apples and nuts (if using).
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 70–80 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
