Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey (preferably 93% lean)
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp olive oil (for brushing patties)
- 4 burger buns or lettuce wraps
- Optional toppings: sliced tomato, lettuce, red onion, cheese, pickles, mustard, ketchup
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375 °F (190 °C) for 3 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ground turkey, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined—don’t overwork.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾‑inch thick.
- Lightly brush both sides of each patty with olive oil to help browning.
- Place patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Cook at 375 °F for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, flip the patties and cook an additional 7–8 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165 °F (74 °C).
- If using cheese, add a slice to each patty in the last minute of cooking.
- Remove patties and let rest for 2 minutes. Toast buns in the air fryer at 375 °F for 1–2 minutes if desired.
- Assemble burgers with desired toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
- Make sure ground turkey is not overly packed when shaping patties to ensure juiciness.
- Feel free to swap spices or add chopped herbs like parsley or cilantro.
- For crispier edges, brush a bit more oil on patties before cooking.
- Use a meat thermometer to guarantee safe internal temperature.
- Leftover patties can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 3 months.
