Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey or chicken)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Olive oil spray (for greasing)
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Mix all ingredients together until well combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat mixture, as it can result in tough meatballs.
- Roll the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs and place them on a plate or baking sheet.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Air fry the meatballs at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. The meatballs should be golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the air fryer and serve immediately with marinara sauce, pasta, or as an appetizer with toothpicks.
Notes
- If you prefer a juicier meatball, try adding a bit of milk to the mixture or using ground turkey with a higher fat content.
- For extra flavor, you can add a bit of finely chopped onion or bell pepper to the mixture.
- If you’re making a large batch, you can freeze the cooked meatballs and reheat them in the air fryer for a quick meal.
