Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Cheese
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Vegetables and Condiments
- 1/2 cup diced pickles
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
Wrapper and Seasoning
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- Cooking spray or oil for misting
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain off any excess fat to avoid greasiness.
- Mix the Filling: Transfer the cooked beef to a bowl and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, diced pickles, diced onions, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to combine all flavors evenly.
- Assemble Egg Rolls: Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner pointing toward you. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cheeseburger mixture into the center of the wrapper.
- Fold & Seal: Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the left and right sides snugly. Roll up tightly toward the remaining corner. Seal the edge by moistening it with a little water to ensure it stays closed during cooking.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for a few minutes to get it ready for cooking.
- Cook the Egg Rolls: Lightly spray each egg roll with cooking spray or brush with oil to help them crisp up. Arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve warm. Enjoy with additional ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce for a tasty snack or appetizer.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can spray the egg rolls with oil both before and halfway through cooking.
- Make sure not to overfill the egg rolls to prevent them from bursting during cooking.
- Use a damp cloth to cover assembled egg rolls if not cooking immediately to prevent wrappers from drying out.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- These egg rolls can be frozen before cooking; freeze them on a baking sheet then transfer to a bag, cooking time will increase slightly.
