Ingredients

Units Scale

For the French Toast Sticks:

  • 6 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the French Toast Sticks: Cut each slice of bread into strips.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Dip each bread strip into the egg mixture, making sure to coat all sides.

  3. Air Fry the French Toast Sticks: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
  4. Brush the air fryer basket with melted butter.

Place the coated bread strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Make the Cinnamon Sugar Coating: In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Coat the French Toast Sticks: While the French toast sticks are still warm, brush them with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Serve the French Toast Sticks warm with maple syrup for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
  • You can customize the cinnamon sugar coating by adding a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra flavor.
  • These French toast sticks are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the air fryer.
