Description

Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets are a healthier version of the classic comfort food. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and made without the need for deep frying, these nuggets are perfect for a quick snack or meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Olive oil spray
  • Your favorite dipping sauce (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken cube into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat evenly.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Arrange the chicken nuggets in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not overcrowded for even cooking.
  5. Air fry the chicken nuggets at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C).
  6. Remove the chicken nuggets from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as honey mustard, ketchup, or barbecue sauce.

Notes

  • If you want extra crispiness, you can double coat the chicken by dipping the pieces in the egg and breadcrumb mixture twice.
  • Feel free to use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.
  • For added flavor, you can mix in herbs like dried thyme, parsley, or Italian seasoning into the breadcrumb mixture.
