Scale
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the pecans to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the sugar mixture.
- Place the coated pecans in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they aren’t overcrowded.
- Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
- Once the pecans are golden brown and the sugar has caramelized, remove them from the air fryer and allow them to cool completely on a baking sheet or parchment paper.
- Once cooled, the candied pecans will have a crispy, caramelized coating. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- If you prefer a less sweet version, you can reduce the amount of sugar or substitute it with a sugar substitute like stevia.
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy-sweet kick.
- These candied pecans make a great addition to salads, oatmeal, or as a snack on their own!
