Ingredients
Scale
Vegetables
- 1 head cauliflower, steamed and finely chopped, liquid squeezed out
Dry Ingredients
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- 1 cup oat flour (blended oats)
- Black pepper, to season
Dairy and Eggs
- 1/2 cup mild cheddar cheese (or goat cheese)
- 1 egg
Others
- Drizzle olive oil (for airfryer cooking)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, add the steamed and finely chopped cauliflower, garlic granules, oat flour, mild cheddar cheese, egg, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly with a spoon to combine into a uniform mixture.
- Shape Tots: Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the mixture and shape each into small rounds or tot shapes using your hands. Place the shaped tots onto a plate ready for cooking.
- Prepare for Airfrying: Lightly drizzle a very small amount of olive oil over the tots to encourage browning and crispiness during cooking.
- Airfry Tots: Arrange the tots in a single layer in the airfryer basket. Cook them in the airfryer at 200ºC (about 392ºF) for 8 to 10 minutes until they are golden and cooked through, turning or shaking the basket halfway if needed for even cooking.
- Serve: Remove from the airfryer and serve warm with a favorite dip and a side of fresh strawberries for a balanced, tasty meal.
Notes
- Ensure cauliflower is finely chopped and excess moisture is squeezed out to help the tots hold their shape better.
- You can substitute mild cheddar cheese with goat cheese for a different flavor profile.
- Adjust cooking time slightly based on your airfryer model for optimal crispiness.
- This recipe is suitable for baby-led weaning as it uses natural ingredients and is easy for little hands to hold.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the airfryer for best results.
